NEW CASTLE, Lawrence County-- The Lawrence County Historical Society cut its budget this week firing it's only paid employee, long-time director Bob Presnar. The society's board notified Presnar on Tuesday a money crunch caused by a lack of donations forcing the organization to cut Presnar's job. The decision will also force the historical society to operate the office and museum under limited hours. The news comes after a successful month for the historical society featuring an exhibit with the Westminster College Egyptian mummy. Some 150 visitors stopped by on Tuesday for the final day of the exhibit.
