This was our last ride together before Solomon ran through a fence. He's healing now, and we'll see if he's sound to ride again when he's done recovering. He'll be my baby either way.I know my equitation sucks- I'm a VERY new rider and still recovering from back surgery. My feet also don't properly reach the stirrups. My hands are too high, though my arms are really short and I'm pretty uh wide, I still should be able to get them down more, I know that.This day was a major breakthrough because it was the first day he really stopped right away when I gave him the command to. Before this, he generally wouldn't stop right away for anyone. We were making so much progress! :(My instructor kind of told me to do a 2 handed neck rein thing, crossing my hand over his neck. Every time I ride someone tells me to use a different rein technique!But we won' be riding again for a good while, now. :(And don't worry, he is and has been monitored by a couple of very good vets, I check with them before doing ANYTHING with him. He's over 1200 pounds, also. I meet the 20% and under "rule."Solomon is a rescue horse. He had an unhappy life, but now all of his needs are taken care of and he is very loved.
