Beautiful orchestation. I like the arrangements and Smith Ballew's vocals. I think is the most gifted singer of the pre- Crosby era.

Some sources claim that "Sleepy Hall" was a pseudonym of Chick Bullock, but that is definitely wrong (Bullock often sang with the band). Surviving artist sheets of the Brunskwick company list the band leader as John Nelson "Sleepy" Hall - no information apart from that, unfortunately. He roecorded about 30 sides for Brunswick and later ARC, but it seems that he had do disassemble his band during the depression years - sad ...
