A Curtis Mayfield song, a Carl Davis production, and Riley Hampton arrangement on this 1965 Okeh release. A delightful piece of mid 60's Windy City Soul. The Impressions also recorded this tune, but for my money, I'll take Marlina's version. I would bet Curtis wrote this for a female vocalist or group, and Marlina gives it that feel. The knowing older woman. Great Chicago stuff from some real hitmakers at Okeh.
